Von Pearl is the debut solo artist project of Helmi Tikkanen, previously of dream pop band Karina. Karina, a respected band that has toured extensively in Europe, was nominated for the Nordic Music Prize and went on hiatus in 2022.
Tikkanen, who has been living in Tokyo for the past year, just released her debut album Precious, which was preceded by two singles and videos: Here was released in May, and the second single Android (feat. SITOI) was released in August. Tikkanen has composed and written all the songs on the album, and she has also arranged and produced them in collaboration with AHO (Matti Ahopelto). Live, she is accompanied by Jaska Stenroth (guitar, vocals) and Adeola Ikuesan (vocals, flute).
