Tappi Tíkarrass was formed back in 1981 by four young boys from Reykjavík. Later that year Björk Guðmundsdóttir (the one and only) joined the band. They became a big part of the Icelandic music scene after their appearance in the documentary movie Rock in Reykjavík. The band split up in 1983 and Björk joined a band called Kukl and later the Sugarcubes and started her solo career. The rest is history. The other band members have all had a successful career in the Icelandic music scene.

The original members, now a grown men reformed the band in 2015 and Tappi Tíkarrass has released two albums since then. The band is still in action and they are releasing two new songs this summer. The first one, callled Dalalæða, is a pop song about the most popular topic in Iceland, The weather.
