Iceland Airwaves will bring its unique flavor of Nordic charm to SXSW, showcasing four of Iceland’s best up and coming artists at the Austin showcase festival. Acts performing include pianist and post-classical composer Eydís Evensen, musical prodigy and Ásgeir collaborator Arny Margret, dream pop and indietronic bopmakers VÖK, and newcomers from the indie-folk outfit LÓN.
Iceland Music invites you into this world of soundscapes that are unlike any other, by listening to Vök, Eydís Evensen, LÓN, and Arny Margret in their playlist “Iceland Music Ethereal” along with other iconic recordings any music-lover would already be familiar with.
At the corner of 6th and Brazos – the west end of the city’s famous party strip that could rival New Orleans’ Bourbon Street or Nashville’s Lower Broadway – the Driskill Hotel has stood regally for over 130 years. This unique venue once was home to the American National Bank of Austin and Austin’s first television and radio stations.
